While you may be striving toward an improved fitness level, you can also acknowledge and appreciate where you are and how far you have come. Onward and upward.
Training season has started for this year’s fall races, and I’m thankful for the slightly cooler temperatures, even if the break in the heat is only temporary. K and I ran four miles in the rain yesterday, and we’re looking forward to getting back into a regular running routine over the coming weeks.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! K and I spent much of Sunday at his mom’s house, and it was so nice to visit with family and friends for an afternoon cookout. Laughter filled the air for a good portion of our time together, and I realized just how much I have missed regular family gatherings. Cheers to celebrating!
Exercise is one of those activities that gives you an outsized return on your investment. When you spend time exercising, you experience benefits that are not necessarily contained in or confined to the time you are exercising.
When it’s (below) freezing outside and the days are shorter, we all tend to slow down a bit. If you want to stay active during the winter months and find yourself struggling to exercise regularly, here are three tips to help keep you moving during wintertime:
The snow is beautiful when it’s falling and still relatively undisturbed, isn’t it? When the light reflects off of the white powder, the world is brighter. If only we could leave the snow as it is when it covers everything…
What a windy weekend. And the rain, hail, and power outages, too. Wow! We didn’t lose our power; I hope that you didn’t either (or if you did, it has since been restored). Speaking of which, we expected to lose power.
Do you ever have a day that doesn’t go quite as planned? Of course, right? (It’s a silly question, isn’t it?) Yet, despite knowing that things come up and life doesn’t always go according to plan, we sometimes have trouble accepting these unscheduled adjustments. Other times, we easily make the best of the situation and roll with the changes.
